Note: When printing this document, choose Landscape for page orientation. ___________________ WHAT'S IN THIS FILE - New Features - Improved Functionality - Installation - Contacting Barco Folsom LLC. ******************** Version 6.00 ***************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - Added 1400x1050 @ 50Hz format selection within the Output menu to support SXGA+ standard. - Added 1400x1050 @ 59.94Hz format selection within the Output menu to support SXGA+ standard. - A keyboard Lock-Out feature has been implemented. Once enabled, the Keys, T-Bar and Joystick are disabled. Console Port (RS-232) control and LED status remain active. To turn this feature ON, press the UP, LEFT and RIGHT arrow keys at the same time. The message "KEYBOARD LOCKOUT ON" will appear in the display. Press the same keys again to turn this feature OFF. - A new command, "MAP", has been added in order to remotely change the FILE map table. - A new command, "DEST", has been added in order to query which input sources are active for a particular destination. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Fixed issue in which the Wide Screen Raster Edge would not appear on the Preview screens for certain output resolutions. - Resolved an issue in which Color Balance setting for RGB sources would be incorrectly recalled. - All parameters changed within the CONFIG SERIAL submenu are now saved after the user presses the SAVE key. The system will then remember the settings and restore them after a power cycle. ********************** Version 5.03 **************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - When 1280x768 Output format is selected, a 60Hz frame rate option becomes available in the FRAME RATE field. Only this output resolution is supported at 60Hz. - Added Screen Detection test under the Diagnostics menu. This test will go out and detect which screens are available and communicating correctly in a system. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Fixed issue in which cycling through the Output Format list rapidly would result in the scaler card missing a command sent from the controller. - Improved Loader application. This application transfers files to the ScreenPro / ScreenPro Plus systems from the controler. ********************** Version 5.02 **************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - Added support to work with the reworked ScreenPro boards. - Added support to field upgrade mixed board systems. - Implemented the detection of the new x.xx revision scheme in the scaler software. - Added support to access addition Output formats in the ScreenPro and ScreenPro Plus systems. The format names are 1280x960 and 1280x768 II ********************** Version 2.55 **************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - The ability to change the Console port communication parameters has been added. Within the SYSTEM Menu, go to the CONFIG SERIAL submenu. This menu will allow the user to change Baud Rate, Data Bits, Stop Bits, Parity and Echo. Once a user has made a change, it becomes effective immediately. Pressing ON/+ while the Reset field is highlighted will set the Console port back to the default settings. - Added control for ScreenPro / ScreenPro Plus systems Display Lock option. Upon initialization, the Controller will determine if the ScreenPro or ScreenPro Plus units have been modified to support Display Lock. If the units have been modified, then the user will be able to turn this feature ON or OFF within the OUTPUT menu. The user must make sure that the Output Resolutions and Output Frame Rates are the same for all screens. Otherwise this field will report N/A. - Added control for the Wide Screen Raster Edge option. If a BlendPro is detected by the controller, the user will be able to turn on the Wide Screen Raster Edge by going into the OUTPUT Menu and selecting this option. If your Wide Screen image is Center Justified (see BlendPro Manual) then two Green Vertical lines will appear. One on Screen 1 Preview and one on the Preview monitor of the highest numbered screen in the system. These lines represent the extreme edges of your projected blended image. If your Wide Screen image is Left Justified (see BlendPro Manual) then only one Green vertical line will appear on the Preview monitor of the highest numbered screen in the system. This line represents the extreme Right side of the projected blended image. To ensure that these lines are in the correct location, make sure to set up the BlendPro prior to turning this feature ON. If BlendPro is not detected, this field will not show. - Added TEST PAT MODE field in the TEST PATTERN submenu within the OUTPUT Menu. This field will enable or disable test patterns for use. Due to a device that needs to be reprogrammed, this operation will take around 3 seconds to complete. Once the test patterns are ON, a user will be able to select the pattern they want in the PATTERN field. Also, OVERLAY MODE will show N/A. However, the user will be able to enable or disable the Raster Box or Grid. When test patterns are OFF, the PATTERN and GRID fields will both show N/A. The raster box will be selectable and will be displayed based on the OVERLAY MODE selection. - Remote Control functions added. The controller now has the ability to be controlled via RS-232 on the Console Port. The command list will be published in the following two manuals: FC-0608 Manual --> P/N: 26-0111200-00 Revision D or higher ScreenPro Plus Manual --> P/N: 26-0111000-00 Revision C or higher If these manuals are unavailable, please contact the factory for assistance. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - AUTO TRANS, CUT and T-BAR are disabled when Test Patterns are ON. - Previously, it was possible for the Preview and Program bus to get out of sync with the scalers if the T-Bar was moved while a scaler was still acquiring an input after selecting a source. This issue has been resolved. - INPUT menu --> ADVANCED --> PHASE OFFSET. The Program and Preview ranges have been changed to range from -16 - 15. - OUTPUT menu --> TEST PATTERNS. Within this menu, the INVERT option has been removed. - Within the SYSTEM menu, the PHASE CAL option has been removed. ********************** Version 2.30 **************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - Added File Mapping capability. With this feature, any given Input source can have different files associated with it on a per screen basis. See the ScreenPro Plus or FC-0608 Controller manual for a complete description on how this feature works. - Added SAVE AS sub-menu to the INPUT menu. With this menu, a user is able to select a file and give it a unique name up to 8 characters in length. - Added remote protocol functionality. A remote protocol specification has been implemented. For this version of software, only two commands exist. More commands will be implemented in future releases. Command Added: RP (Recall Preset) and ATRN (Auto Transition) See the latest revision of the manuals for a complete description of the protocol specification and command operation parameters. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Improved Loader application. The loader application, which transfers files to the ScreenPros and/or ScreenPro Plus systems has been improved for more reliable operation. - Improved controller response. LED lighting has been enhanced so the operator of the controller gets immediate feedback for certain functions. ********************** Version 2.20 **************************** ____________ NEW FEATURES - Group functionality has been implemented. This feature allows a user to store different combinations of active destinations to any one of the four GROUP keys. To make a Group assignment, do the following: 1) Hold down the GROUP # key you wish to use for a particular assigment. 2) While holding down the GROUP # key, press any of the Screen # or AUX # keys in the destination bus. When the light under the Destination button turns ON, the assignment has been made. 3) To remove a Destination from a Group assignment, while holding down the Group # key, simply press the Destination you wish to remove. The light under the destination button will go out, indicating that it is no longer assigned to that group. Multiple GROUP keys can be made active at the same time. Do do this simply hold down the combination of GROUP keys you want activated all at the same time and then release the keys. When a GROUP assignment contains an AUX # destination and this GROUP is currently selected, the following rules applies: A) Sources selected in the Preview Bus will be immediately routed to the Preview screens if Screen destinations are active, while the AUX(s) are subsuquently set up for the route to take place on the next transition. B) Sources selected in the Program Bus will be immediately routed to the Program and AUX destinations. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Preset functionality has been enhanced to include the active GROUP keys at the time the Preset is learned. ____________ INSTALLATION Refer to the "Upgrade Instructions.pdf" file contained in the Controller_Rev###.exe or SProPlus_Rev###_### file for instructions on upgrading your Barco Folsom Controller or ScreenPro Plus system to this release of software. ____________________________ CONTACTING BARCO FOLSOM LLC.
