EC-210 will continue to be supported. * The latest version supported for EC-200 was 8.2. PDS-4K Firmware: pds_update_vp.enc.9.2.5963.tar.gz or higher E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Firmware: em_update_vp.9.2.5980.tar.gz or higher E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Operating System: em_update_os.3.1.1.tar.gz Please note: OS of E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K is now the same. It should only be installed after the firmware has been upgraded to at least version 7.0.xxxx WARNING: If you install OS version 3.0.0 (or later) before upgrading the E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K to 7.0 or higher firmware, you will see incorrect OS versions being reported. ____________ KNOWN ISSUES PDS-4K - HDMI 1.4 devices that output UHD at 50/59.94/60 with 4:2:0 chroma sub-sampling (e.g. BrightSign HD4) may not be acquired. In order to acquire video, either change the input's EDID to a lower resolution or change the output device's format to a fixed resolution lower than UHD. - Audio Option Card: When running the Dante Card in Redundant Ethernet mode, the IP Address information for the Secondary Ethernet Connector (#2) that shows on the Front Panel and the GUI will be incorrect. To see the correct information, use the Dante Controller software to view the PDS device's Status Tab. A future firmware update from Audinate will correct this issue. - On SDI Inputs configured for 8Ch audio, the embedded audio from certain SDI output capable camcorders may not available. Change the SDI Input's audio mode back to 2Ch mode for the embedded audio to be available. Event Master - On DisplayPort 1.2 input configurations, there is a DisplayID Block check box that is used for programming the EDID with a "tiled display topology". This is useful for configuring two or more inputs as a single multi-connector input/background from multi-head graphics cards e.g. those utilized in high-end media servers in order for them to retain their desktop output relationships with each other. There is no intended use for enabling the DisplayID Block for use with single connector inputs/backgrounds and if enabled with such may cause the input to stop displaying picture until the chassis is soft reset (power cycled). - Due to certain LAN configurations, it is possible that backup operations can succeed but restore operations can fail from the web app. When this occurs, users are advised to: - Use a USB drive and plug it into the front panel of the unit and use the front panel to perform backup / restore. For the EX, connect the USB drive and go to the web app Manage->Software->Software on USB tab - Use a direct ethernet cable from your PC to the VP. - There is a known issue with Atomos Shogun and other manufacturers' video output devices not creating valid CRC streams per SMPTE ST-2081/2082 at 6G/12G-SDI rates and as such the Tri-Combo Input does not acquire its signal. EC-210 - Left Monitor Grey: Certain conditions may cause the left monitor to start with the "External Input" check box turned on, even when there is no input device attached. The left monitor will look grey and not show the Event Master Toolset. To re-enable the monitor to show the Toolset, please either uncheck the "External Input" check box, or completely shut down and restart the controller. - Sometimes when an external display is plugged in after the EC-210 has booted, one or more of the screens may show grey. It is recommended to plug in the external display prior to turning on the EC-210. Unplugging and re-plugging the HDMI cable for the display will generally clear the problem as well. - It is not possible to setup a Class B subnet on the EC-210 controller (i.e. 255.255.0.0 does not work). _________ BUG FIXES PDS-4K - Fixed: Audio embedded onto SDI input and output connectors to/from Dante intermittently dropped out or sounded distorted. - Fixed: Using the GUI to adjust the unit s fan operation mode had no effect. Event Master - Fixed: Rare but possible crash in unstable network environment. - Fixed: Inputs from a daisy-chained EX were not visible in the multiviewer. - Fixed: Single Layers assigned to a Screen Destination within a Super Destination were changing layers on locked Program with preset recall while the conflict resolution mode was set to "Auto." - Fixed: Screen Destinations that use more than one row of canvas links could show an artifact when a Layer with an upscaled, high-contrast image was positioned above where the canvas rows meet. - Fixed: A diagnostic run from the front panel on an S3 Chassis that has only one powered PSU in the first slot would result with a Fail message that was erroneously displayed. - Fixed: JSON armUnarmDestination followed by allTrans resulted in transitioning unarmed Destinatations. ImagePRO-4K - Fixed: Circle Alignment Test Pattern options, including LED Mode, were missing from the Front Panel menu. EC-Controllers - Fixed: EC-210 Controller setup page was not showing the syntax feedback unless the user scrolled to the bottom of the page. - Fixed: Assign Bus Page Up/Down and function change buttons were not working on the Virtual Console while a hardware controller was physically detected. - Fixed: With linked chassis systems, assigning MVR as Source into a Layer or Aux would result in an error message that displayed in the GUI and the source would not route. ____________ NEW FEATURES PDS-4K - Added: Capability to set the system time via the GUI s Setup Adjustment panel. Click the button with the refresh icon to read the date and time currently set in the processor. Use the proper fields to change the date, time and time offset and click the Apply button to set the filled-in values as the system date and time. We recommend the system date time be set to UTC (Coordinated Universal Time or Greenwich Mean Time) then use the offset to match the local time zone where the system is in use. Note: The offset value is not retained after a Factory Reset. - Added: Clock and Timer window resources to the GUI s Multiviewer setup page. Use the GUI s Multiviewer Setup page to add the Clock and/or Timer Windows to any of the four multiviewer layouts. Both of these windows are assigned to layout #2 by default. The Clock window will show the system time including the offset value that is set in the configuration page. The Timer window will show the currently playing timer, that can be configured and controlled from the newly added Timers tab on the programming page once it has started. There are 20 available duration memories that can be set to count down or up a total amount of time as well as a warning time. When the timer reaches the warning time, the window s font color changes from white to amber. When the timer expires, it stops counting and the clock window changes to display white characters on a red background. When the user stops the active timer, the first timer in the list is loaded and ready until the user either starts the timer or chooses a different timer to load and start. Timer load, play, pause and stop functions are also available to use in Cue action steps as well as Flex Bus mappable buttons from a new Timers Tab for the EC-Series Controllers. An active timer must be stopped before another duration can be started. - Added: 8-channel audio mode to inputs and destinations (Audio Option Card and new Dante firmware required). By default, all Inputs and Destinations start with two audio channels assigned and are now capable of having eight audio channels assigned for direct embedded pass-through. For each input and destination that will require eight channels of audio, use the GUI or Front Panel menu to change the number of audio channels assigned. After updating the Dante firmware (instructions are available with the separate Dante firmware download), the Dante card will expand its total number of transmitters to 64 and its receivers to 32 channels. Each input and destination reserve two transmitters at minimum. When a destination is changed to use eight audio channels the system will assign it eight transmitters and eight receivers. Since there can be up to 10 inputs on a PDS-4K, while it is possible for each input and destination to have eight audio channels assigned, the Dante network maxes out at 64 transmitters. Once the transmitter limit is reached, the later configured resources will keep their originally assigned two transmitter channels. Event Master - Added: Any SuperLayer(s) assigned to Super Destination(s) can either act Globally (default, original behavior) in the entire Super Destination or Locally, meaning they can act as separate layers with different sources, visible inside their allocated Screen Destination s area of responsibility. Select the SuperLayer and use the newly added switch at the top of the Adjust tab to change its mode from Global to Local. The GUI shows Local SuperLayers with white text on blue background and a decimal numeral appeneded to the layer number to indicate in which Screen Destination the layer will be visible. - Added: User preference for "Destination Tabs add on the Right" upon creation. With this preference enabled, the programming page will show newly added destination tabs to the right of previously created destinations. - Added: Backup files exported from the WebApp now appends the date and time to the filename s characters. For example, a backup file initiated by a computer running the WebApp of an E2-Gen2 on the 4th of September, 2023 at 16:12:33 would be named E2-Gen2Backup4_9_2023-16H-12M-33S.tar.gz. - Added: The HDCP status for supported output connectors is now available when an output connector is selected, including split outputs. Previously, HDCP status was only available to view in Screen and Aux Destinations output page. EC Series Controllers - Added: Auto Map Assign Bus. On the GUI s Controller setup page this preference is enabled by default for Layout 1 and disabled for the other three Layouts. After this preference is enabled, per layout, the Destination and Assign buses (except for the Flex type) will automatically map in the order of operations/creation. - Added: EC-210 "Help Err" button will now open/close the informational messages window. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY PDS-4K - Changed how the GUI displays the available memory for Still image storage as a counter. Event Master - Tally indications in the Multiviewer UMDs and GUI s Programming Page for Multi-Operator use (Gen2 MVR card required). The SuperOperator when laying out the Multiviewers can choose which operator to follow for any selected resource window s tally information. Additionally, when normal operators are logged into the system, the inputs on their Programming page will only show tally indications when they are in use on the destination(s) assigned to the operator who is logged in. The SuperOperator will still see tally indicators for all inputs in use. - Multi-Select Destination Tabs to add them to Programming Layouts by using Ctrl+Click (Mac: Cmd+Click) or turn on the Multiple Select button in the Layer Modification Panel then select multiple destination tabs and drag/drop the selection onto one of the 10 layout buttons. - Backgrounds as Source (Inputs Tab) now has New Source and Copy Source buttons. - Custom Format s VESA calculator section now defaults to having the Reduced Blanking Version 1 option applied. - For Aux Destinations the Aux Scaling Mode is now defaulted to "Custom" instead of "All." Note: To create a SuperAux, the scaling mode must first be set to either All or Center Cut before adding the Aux Destination to a SuperAux. - JSON Commands (download the full list of supported JSON commands from the Documentation folder on our FTP site). - changeSuperDestContent: added API and parameters to change source, Mask percentage, for Global Layer(s) on PVW and or PGM and select Test Pattern for the Super Destination. - changeSuperAuxContent: added parameter to select the Test Pattern for Super Aux. ImagePRO-4K - Pan/Zoom controls are now readily accessible from the "LED Setup" menu's Image Sizing Controls. ********************************* Version 9.1 (Build 67065) *************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Download and use the following firmware and OS files with this release of Event Master. * EC-200 is NOT supported on this version of software. Three Ultra-wide output formats are now added to the drop-down list: 7680x1080, 7680x1200 and 8192x1080 Note: This feature is only available for use on the Quad DisplayPort 1.2 output card and not on the Tri-Combo Output card. - Screen Destination canvas and output offsets lock. On a Screen Destination's "Wide" page, when the Expert mode is on, a lock icon will appear to the right of the "Canvas Size" mode box. When locked, neither the canvas size nor output offset positions will change with the addition or subtraction of output connectors on the Screen Destination. - Destination Tabs at the top of the Programming page display a blue dot when they are active for a transition. This allows the user to see which Destinations are active when they are using a Programming Layout or isolating a single Destination for composition work. - "Reset All" button added to the Layer Modification panel. Similar to the "Reset" button that only resets a layer's size and position, "Reset All" also resets the Layer mode to PiP, deletes any Keyframe, turns off Border and Shadow, resets source size & mask value and turns off all layer effects. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY Event Master - Added Green tinted Snowflake and Layer OMD text to indicated when a source in use in a layer or Aux is frozen at the input (supersedes Layer frozen Blue snowflake). - Added the ability to custom configure the included simulator with choice of chassis and I/O cards, including Canvas Mode, with support for to four linked chassis. Also includes buttons to launch and close the simulator app. - Increased the maximum number of Input configurations from 128 to 768 and maximum number of Sources from 256 to 900. - Added an "Anchored Tabs" user preference to the Settings Page (Off by default). Turning on this preference keeps all the Tabs on the left and right sides of the EM GUI always anchored at the top of the screen (8.1 feature). - Adding/deleting Destinations to/from a Super Destination no longer resets the H & V offsets of the other Destinations - JSON Commands (download the full list of supported JSON commands from the Documentation folder on our FTP site) - Added command "listDestGroups" to return a list of all Destination Groups group names and IDs including all member destination names and IDs. An additional parameter ("destGroupId", "destGroupSno", "destGroupName") may be added to return only the names and IDs of a particular Destination Group Example to return all Destination Groups: {"params": {}, "method":"listDestGroups", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} - Added command "mvrLayoutChange" to switch the active MVR layout per chassis in a system. Example to change the MVR in UnitID 0 to layout 1: {"params": {"frameUnitId": 0, "mvrLayoutId": 0}, "method":"mvrLayoutChange", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} - Added commands to support the Multi-Operator feature - "listOperators": Return a list of the normal operators, their state of enablement, assigned destinations and preset range. Example to see the full ist of normal operators: {"params":{}, "method":"listOperators", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} - "configureOperator": Configure the paramaters for normal operator functionality. See JSON documentation for all parameters that can be configured Example to enable Operator 1: {"params": {"operatorId": 0, "enable": 1}, "method":"configureOperator", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} - "activatePreset": added parameters when Multi-Operator is active to recall a preset either as a particular normal operator or as the Super operator (with password). Example to recall preset 51 as operator 1: {"params": {"presetSno": 51, "operatorId": 0}, "method":"activatePreset", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} Example to recall preset 51 as the Super operator: {"params": {"presetSno": 51, "password": "password"}, "method":"activatePreset", "id":"1234", "jsonrpc":"2.0"} NOTE: The additional user parameters must also be added in order to Delete or Save Presets and for All Trans & Cut commands when Multi-Operator is active on the system. ********************************* Version 7.1 (Build 62950) *************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of EM firmware. E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Firmware: Revision: 7.1.xxxx or higher E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Operating System: Revision 3.1.1. Please note: OS of E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K is now the same. It should only be installed after the firmware has been upgraded to at least 7.0. WARNING: If you install the 3.0.0 (or later) OS before upgrading the E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K to 7.0 or higher firmware, you will see incorrect OS versions being reported ____________ KNOWN ISSUES - EC-210 Left Monitor Grey: Certain conditions may cause the left monitor to start with the External Input check box turned on, even when there is no input device attached. The left monitor will look grey and not show the Event Master Toolset. To re-enable the monitor to show the Toolset, please either uncheck the External Input check box, or completely shut down and restart the controller. - E2-Gen2 System Name: Changing the system name may not update the name in the Detected Devices tab of the configuration page. A re-start of the Event Master Toolset will show the updated name in the Detected Devices tab. - CXP I/O Card installed in an 8L Slot: A Gen 1 Card in an EX that is linked via CXP I/O card installed in a 8L slot may incorrectly allow more than four links of connector capacity to be configured. Video signals beyond the fourth link on that card will be unusable. Work-around: reconfigure the Gen 1 card to use no more than four links of connector capacity. - Auto Layout MVR: When pressing "Auto Layout" in the MVR, under some situations using linked processors, Background inputs may show up twice in the same MVR. Simply delete the unwanted duplicate. Video is not affected. - EC-210 issues with external display: Sometimes when an external display is plugged in after the EC-210 has booted, one or more of the screens may show grey. It is recommended to plug in the external display prior to turning on the EC-210. Unplugging and re-plugging the hdmi cable for the display will generally clear the problem as well. - On DisplayPort 1.2 input configurations, there is a DisplayID Block check box that is used for programming the EDID with a tiled display topology . This is useful for configuring two or more inputs as a single multi-connector input/background from multi-head graphics cards e.g those utilized in high end media servers in order for them to retain their desktop output relationships with each other. There is no intended use for enabling the DisplayID Block for use with single connector inputs/backgrounds and if enabled with such may cause the input to stop displaying picture until the chassis is soft reset (power cycled). - Due to certain LAN configuration, it is possible that backup operation can succeed but restore operation can fail from the web app. When this occurs, users are advised to - Use a USB drive and plug it into the front panel of the unit and use the front panel to perform backup / restore. For the EX, connect the USB drive and go to the web app Manage->Software->Software on USB tab - Use a direct ethernet cable from your PC to the VP - It is not possible to setup a Class B subnet on the EC-200 / EC-210 controller (i.e. 255.255.0.0 does not work.) - There is a known issue with Atomos Shogun not creating valid CRC streams per SMPTE ST-2081/2082 at 6/12G-SDI rates and as such the Tri-Combo Input does not acquire its signal. ____________ NEW FEATURES - Input and Native Background backups can now be defined in the Programming page (left tab) - Allow each input up to 3 backup inputs. Backup inputs can be a different input or still. - Backup must be the same size and connector capacity. - Manual / Auto mode. Default to manual. When in Auto mode and the current input loses sync, it switches automatically to the first backup that has valid sync. This also occurs during preset recalls and live source selection. - Multiviewer 2.0 features (Note: features below are exclusively on the 4K Quad HDMI 2.0 MVR) - Allow 4 copies of any sources in the MVR. There is still a 63 max limit on each bus (input bus, output bus, link bus) - Allow a window to be in 2 modes; "100% size" mode or "50% size" mode. The resources are still linked but this allows for a resource that is used more than once to have a different size from the other instances(s). This feature is supported on Input / Background / AUX Destination / Screen Destination Output windows. This feature is not supported on Screen Destination PGM windows or Screen Destination PVW windows. These windows must be at 100% - Added the ability to show Screen Destination Outputs as a MVR window. Since Output assignments are static, this is helpful in the case of dual chassis linked systems, when Screen Destinations may be processed in the VPUs of the chassis that is not outputting the destination(s). This also may be helpful in PGM only mode when there is more canvas being processed in the VPUs (4 x 4K) than can be shown on the MVR. Output refresh rate must match native rate for the window to be useable. There is a known issue with this feature not working on multi connector output configs and if the outputs are rotated - Allow MVR Output to be used as an input source (for layers / backgrounds / AUXes). A fifth tab is available on the Input tab on the Programming page. MVR outputs can also be set to be Global inputs. Go to the Configuration page, MVR tab on the right panel and enable / disable the Global checkbox - General Multiviewer features - Added the ability for users to select 11 pre-defined MVR templates - Allow resolutions wider than 4096 (e.g. 7680x1200) as an input resolution on a single DP 1.2 input connector with 4K connector capacity. The following formats have been tested on the DP 1.2 input connector at 50Hz/59.94Hz/60Hz: - 4800x1600 (this is a 3:1 aspect ratio) - 5120x1440 (this is 1/2 height of 5K) - 5760x1080 (3*1920x1080) - 5760x1200 (3*1920x1200) - 6144x1080 (3*2048x1080) - 6144x1200 (3*2048x1200) - 7680x1080 (4*1920x1080) - 7680x1200 (4*1920x1200) These resolutions will not be available for the input s EDID and must be generated by the input source. The custom format calculator can provide the necessary timing parameters for setting up the source s DisplayPort 1.2 output. - Added Startup Cue to be defined in the Cue page (default is None). This Cue will automatically play when all VPs in the system are ready, following a system initialization. Startup Cue will also be triggered if the system is soft reset / powered up. - Allow users to update the name of the input EDID (9 character max). Default EDID Display name is "E2". User can update this name in the EDID section of the input adjustment tab on the "Display Name" edit box If the Input config have multiple connectors, software will append the input connector # to the end of the name. For example, if an input config has 4 connectors and the name is "Server", the first connector will have the name "Server-01", the second connector will have the name "Server-02", etc. Note that a hot plug detect will be triggered when the name is updated. - External Devices - allow HTTP Put commands to be defined - E2/S3/ImagePRO-4K front panel features - Add "WebApp Lock" in the front panel menu of E2/S3/ImagePRO-4K to disable the unit's web app. Menu added under the System menu. Access to a processor s built-in WebApp, via GUI and browsers, will be disabled while this lock is on. - Allow users to import and export PNGs in the front panel menu of E2/S3/ImagePRO-4K. Menu added under the Setup menu (under Stills) PNGs are imported from EM\stills\import PNGs are exported to EM\stills\export - EC Controller features - Added "Flex bus" to the EC Controller's assign bus. This bus allows any functionality to be mapped to it, except Destinations (and Destination Groups). Max # of buttons in the Flex bus is 1000 - Added PGM bus and PVW bus to the EC Controller's assign bus. Enable this feature in the Settings page and check the "Show Program Preview Source Bus". When it is enabled, cycle the assign bus functionalities to see the PGM bus and PVW bus. Pressing a source in the PGM bus will update PGM layers and PGM AUX Outputs that are armed with the new source regardless of Lock/Live mode Pressing a source in the PVW bus will update PVW layers and PVW AUX Outputs that are armed with the new source - Multi operator - Allow 3 normal operators and a super operator. - Each normal operator can be given access to a subset of destinations and preset ranges - Each operator and super operator has their own four EC Controller layouts. - Inputs, Cues, User Keys, MVR and other features are global to all operators. Therefore a Cue played by any operator that has a Preset recall will arm / unarm Presets as if the super user is recalling the Preset. - Default super operator password is "password" - JSON - Add JSON command "armUnarmDestination" to arm / unarm Destinations - Add "transTime" parameter to "allTrans" command - New 3.1.1 OS to improve CXP Communication speed by 2x. With 7.1 firmware and CXP Communication enabled, 3.1.1 OS is recommended ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Backup Sync: Append "-B" to the system name of the backup system - Gamma adjustment can now be made in 0.001 granularity in the edit box by typing the value. +/- buttons are still in 0.01 granularity - In the Controller page, allow users to rename Input Sources / BG Sources / User Keys / Presets / Cues on the left tab - EC-210 Controller - Allow up to 8 system connections - Create 3rd Programming page instance for the External Monitor connection - "Refit" functionality in the Multiviewer has been updated to remove the black area in the MVR window - On E2/S3/ImagePRO-4K front panel, added a "Still" menu to allow users to import / export PNGs. Note that PNGs exported will always be set to be 24RGB color. Please use USB stick with USB 2.0 or above to make sure PNGs are transferred properly - Unit will do a "Save All" before performing Backup operation - In version 7.0 and earlier, the MVR card allowed for different outputs to each have their own output resolution. In order to allow for two different PIP sizes, beginning in version 7.1, changing the resolution on any one MVR output will apply to all outputs as they must be at the same resolution. _________ BUG FIXES - Fixed issue with EMT UI running on Mac OSX losing connections to the Video Processors. - Fixed issue with the DP 1.2 inputs for use with Datapath Fx4 outputs. This was done in collaboration with the DisplayPort chip maker to improve functionality with inputs using lower line rates (HD/Silngle Link or less). Other such devices that send those output rates may benefit as well. - Save EDID File: Saving an EDID file for use with HDR sources and outputs can only be done on a single cable output. If you need to save a file from a screen that will use ganged outputs, first save the file from the first output of the screen prior to adding the other output connections. - Too many 4K Auxes on an EX: When certain card combinations, like HDMI and SDI, are used in an EX that is linked to another Event Master processor, the EMT GUI may allow the creation of more aux outputs than allowed by the 8 link limit on a link card. Be sure that you are not using more than 8 total links for auxes. 8 link examples: 8xHD, 4xHD and 2xDL, 2x4K, 1x4K and 2xDL, 1x4K and 4xHD. Be sure to not only check the output resolution but also the Aux capacity. - Primary to backup system synchronization: When synchronizing a back up system to a primary system via the "Sync" button on the configuration page, sometimes the system will show an error that the SYNC did not complete. This has been fixed - Fix PS4 on HDMI 2.0 input being intermittently acquired on system power up - Fix EC-210 crash on certain user configurations - Fix "Preset -a " ASCII command recalling Presets incorrectly - Fix a bug with "Add new Still from PNG" where the used space is only showing 1/2 the used space when the PNG has an Alpha channel. ********************************* Version 7.0 (Build 57013) *************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of EM firmware. Prior to this fix the only way to correct the problem, if it occurred, required rebooting the E2/S3 processor * Fixed issue with Screen Destination windows freezing when other Screen Destination windows are added on the Multiviewer ********************************* Version 7.0 (Build 54337) *************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of EM firmware. E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Firmware: Revision: 07.0.2941 or higher E2/S3/EX/ImagePRO-4K Operating System: Revision 3.0.0 or higher ____________ NEW FEATURES - Support for E2-Gen2 video processor. This product supports all features of the existing E2 with the addition of: - All input slots have max connector capacity of two 4K. This feature is only available on Gen 2 input cards - Higher wattage power supplies. These new power supplies are NOT backward compatible with existing E2/S3 - E2-Gen2 firmware version must be 7.0 or higher. E2-Gen2 cannot be downgraded to earlier code revisions. E2 and E2 Gen2 are fully compatible, with the exception of the extra input capacity on the first 4 input slots that is only available in E2 Gen2. Backups from E2 or E2 Gen2 will work on another E2 or E2 Gen2. Users are responsible to ensure that card configurations and connector capacities are identical between systems. In the case of card configuration incompatibility between systems those Inputs/Outputs will be greyed out. The user will have to fix those manually by reconfiguring. - Support for new CXP I/O card. The CXP I/O card can be used in an input or output slot of an E2 / S3 and allows an EX to be connected and be part of a system even with Multiple linked E2s or S3s. The CXP I/O card is NOT supported in EX / IP4K. - Support has been added for communication via the CXP link cable. This enables the EX to operate as a slave with an E2 or S3 without an ethernet cable. Only the CXP cable is required User can enable/disable this per CXP link connector by selecting the CXP connector on the configuration page and going to the Adjust tab. Due to the need for command synchronization this is currently only made available when the card is installed in a Master processor. A maximum of 6 EX's are supported by each Master processor when using communication via the CXP cable. Communication via CXP link cable is supported with the Expansion link card and the CXP I/O card with an EX slave unit only. The unit ID of the EX must be unique. The static IP address (if used) of the EX must be unique. Note that the communication via CXP link cable is slower than a Gigabit Ethernet communication and may affect network intensive functions. Also this feature is only supported if the units are updated to OS version 3.0.0 or higher There are some feature limitations when communication via CXP is enabled for an EX. They are listed below: - Capturing a 4K Still store using CXP communication will take approximately 3-5 minutes to complete - When connecting a new EX with output cards to a system that has many still stores, it is recommended to locally connect and synchronise the EX using CXP and Ethernet cables temporarily. This will allow the EX to synchronize still stores with the system much faster. Once the new EX has synchronized, press "Save all" and the EX may now be shut down and relocated to the remote location. Enable CXP communication in the Configuration page, connect all needed cables to the EX and then power on the EX. - The Unit ID of an EX can not be updated when using CXP communication. Please updated Unit ID via ethernet communication first before installation at a remote location. - EXs may not be daisy chained when the EX is connected to E2 or S3 and CXP communication has been enabled. - Users will not be able to use the CXP I/O card with CXP communication enabled on the S3 when the system is an E2<->S3 configuration, as slave to slave connections are not allowed via CXP communication. The CXP I/O card on any slave units must use ethernet communication - EX web app is not accessible when using CXP communication. - Support for 4K Quad HDMI 2.0 Output card as a Multiviewer. This Multiviewer offers all features of the existing HDMI 1.4 Output card when operating as a Multiviewer with the addition of: - HDCP 2.2 support: HDCP 2.2 encrypted inputs can be shown on the Multiviewer outputs - User can select between having one 4K output (with the other three connectors as split) or four discrete HD outputs (default). To change its output configuration mode, select the Video Processor and select the Adjust tab, then the Setup page. The buttons used to switch modes are below the Last slot as MVR" toggle switch - Important note: As it is a tool to provide the user a Preview the 4K MVR only supports downscaling of 4K/UHD inputs (less than native viewing). SL and DL inputs can be viewed/scaled up to their native resolution. - Allows up to 63 HD input windows and 63 HD output windows - Multiviewer - Added "Auto layout Dest" button in the Multiviewer page to automatically layout Destinations - Allow users to define 6 custom MVR window sizes. Controls are available in the Adjust tab for the MVR windows - Allow users to update individual AUX Destination sources in a Super AUX - Added test pattern / AOI / color controls for Super Dest and Super AUX - Added "Lock/Unlock Destinations" checkbox in Programming page - Added a list to show last 20 status bar messages on the bottom status bar. Time is in 24hr format. Command is DATE -s Time format {year} {month} {day} {hour} {minute} {second} Example: DATE -s 2019-10-18-13:45:29 ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Relative Preset updates - When user recalls a Relative preset, the "Relative" radio button is automatically selected. When user recalls a Complete preset, the "Complete" radio button is automatically selected. - When recalling Presets, the Hide/Show state of the layers and Backgrounds will now match the settings from when the preset was saved, for easy editiing of presets. - Added a status table for the various connector types (DVI/HDMI1.4/HDMI2.0/DP1.1/DP1.2) to the custom formats tab. This allows users to see which connectors will support the custom format. - Added Event Master Processors external device. - When creating a new external device command in the same device, the command string from the previous command will be copied into the new command. - Luma Key defaults have been changed to Clip=60, Gain=90, Opacity=100 to be closer to typical luma key sources. - EDID: Added ability to save EDID file from display connected to output. This allows users to apply the saved EDID file to inputs _________ BUG FIXES - Fixed bug with preset conflict recall error when a mixer layer is a Key Cut / Fill and then in the next preset it is used as a PIP, where the layer is incorrectly removed from PGM during recall. - Fixed bug where EC Controllers were losing mappings under certain conditions. - Fixed bug where with Gen 1 Input cards if you placed 2 instances of the input on the MVR and deleted one of them the other one would freeze. ____________ KNOWN ISSUES - Primary to backup system synchronization: When synchronizing a back up system to a primary system via the "Sync" button on the configuration page, sometimes the system will show an error that the SYNC did not complete. Users are advised to check the back up system as normally the SYNC has been completed. - EC-210 Left Monitor Grey: Certain conditions may cause the left monitor to start with the External Input check box turned on, even when there is no input device attached. E2/S3 Operating System: Revision 0.4.6 or higher E2/S3 Firmware: Revision: 03.20.861 or higher ____________ NEW FEATURES - Single Layer support When assigning layers to a destination, the option of adding a "Single Layer" can now be selected. With this new feature, up to 32 2K layers are now available for use in a single E2. In a single S3, up to 8 2K layers can now be used. - Preset Conflict Resolution This feature is only required when using Single Layer as situations can arise when a layer that wants to be modified by a Preset Recall is currently on Program. On the Configuration page, two options can be setup to tell the system how to deal with these situations when they are detected. Preset Conflict Mode Force Recall - Program is NOT protected, the preset will be recalled directly to PGM Auto - Perform the necessary actions to gracefully recall the Preset to Program. User Confirm - Present the user with a pop-up asking what to do next when a conflict is detected. User Confirm options Resolve - All Trans or Cut Perform the necessary actions to resolve the conflict and perform an All Trans or Cut to bring the Preset to Program. Resolve - Wait Perform the necessary actions to resolve the conflict and wait for the user to press the All Trans or Cut manually. Cancel - Cancels the entire preset recall operation. Preset Conflict Trans Time This is the default time the system will use when performing the All Trans automatically. - Linking E2 and S3 Starting with release 3.2, it is now possible to link an E2 and a single S3 unit to expand inputs and AUX outputs of your system. The S3 can be added as a Master or Slave to an E2. On the E2 only Slot 1 can be used for the Link connections. The connections required are as follows: E2 ID x, Link Card slot 1, Link 1 >> S3 ID y, Link Card slot 1, Link 2 E2 ID x, Link Card slot 1, Link 2 >> S3 ID y, Link Card slot 1, Link 1 After connecting the link cables and adding the E2 and S3 to your System in the EMT, additional inputs and outputs can be used between the units. The Outputs in this release are limited to AUX functionality. Certain configuration setups will not be allowed. These include spanning input or output configurations between the E2 and S3. If your setup requires this kind of configuration, then you must link two E2's or two S3's together. With the new ability to add all available outputs from E2/S3 to a Destination, stand alone or in a linked configuration, the number and configuration options for outputs is now greatly enhanced. - Additional Destination Output support For a single E2, the total number of outputs that can be put into a destination is now 12. For a single S3, the total number of outputs that can be put into a destination is now 8. - Progressive Segmented Frame (psF) on SDI Support has been added to accept psF formats on the SDI inputs. Formats include; 1920x1080psF @ 24, 25, 29.97 & 30Hz SMPTE 2K psF @ 24, 25, 29.97 & 30Hz - Input Source LOS (Loss of Signal) Indication Under this condition, the LCDs in the Assign bus will turn red on an EC-50 or (EC-200). - New E2/S3 Reset Options Factory (Save IP & EDID & ID) Shut Down ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Multiviewer Windows Screen Destinations (Program and Preview) can now be used up to two times in any Multiviewer output. The position of the window can be different for each copy but the size of the window for each copy will always be the same. - Multiviewer Window Options UMD, Borders and AOI markers can now be turned ON or OFF as necessary. Some of these are shown only in the MVR output. - Input EDID Color Bit Depth Bit depths of 8, 10 or 12 can now be selected when programming Input EDIDs. - Background Glitch during Transition With Toggle Mode ON and PGM/PVW each having different live source backgrounds, a glitch on PGM could be observed at the end of a transition. This issue has been resolved in this release. - SDI Output Under certain conditions, changing the resolution on the SDI outputs several times would be required to get the desired output. This issue has been resolved in this release. *********************************** Version 3.1 (Build 23160) ***************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of E2 firmware. E2/S3 Operating System: Revision 0.4.6 or higher E2/S3 Firmware: Revision: 03.10.746 or higher ____________ NEW FEATURES - Chroma Key To enable Chroma Keying, make sure the layer is in Mix Mode and Layer type is a Key. The Key Mode can now be Chroma. "Pick Hue" now becomes available to select the color to key out. After selecting a Hue color to key out, it may be necessary to make additional adjustments to improve the look of the overall compositing effect. Chroma Clip - This is an angle, centered around the Hue color. Any color inside this angle will be fully keyed out. Ramp - This is an angle, also centered around the Hue color. It must be equal to or larger than the Chroma Clip angle. Inside the Chroma Ramp angle, the colors keyed out ramp linearly the closer the foreground color approaches the Chroma Clip angle. Outside the Chroma Ramp angle, the foreground colors are not suppressed. Opacity - This allows the key source to become increasingly transparent with respect to the background source. Hue - Selects the color to be removed or keyed out of the input. While this can be manually adjusted, the "PICK HUE" feature will change this number as well. Spill - This will remove unwanted key color on the foreground object which is generally a result of reflection from the (green or blue screen) background. Shadow - This will allow shadows to be preserved or removed in the foreground image. Highlight - The opposite of Shadow this will allow highlights to be preserved or removed in the foreground image. Saturation Clip - Defines the threshold along the Saturation axis where keying begins. Below the clip threshold, the colors are not keyed out. Above the clip threshold, the colors follow the results of Chroma Clip and Gain but depend on the Saturation Gain setting as this creates a linear key color strength ramp in the key area. Saturation Gain - Defines the transition along the saturation axis between keying off and keying on. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Screen / AUX Destinations support on one output card When mixing Screen and AUX destinations on a single card, a maximum of 2 connectors can be Screen destinations while a maximum of 2 connectors can be AUX destination. Under a mixed use environment, the max AUX capacity is 4L. - Multiviewer Windows Input, Background or AUX Destinations can now be used up to two times in any Multiviewer output. The position of the window can be different for each copy but the size of the window for each copy will always be the same. Screen Destinations can still only be used once in any Multiviewer output. - Full and Reduced color range can now be selected as part of the Output configuration. - HDCP support for Multiviewer Outputs has been added. - EMT Programming Menu 10 Layouts can now be defined. Screen and/or AUX destinations can be added to any Layout by dragging and dropping a destination tab into the Layout button. Clear Layout button will clear the currently selected Layout. Double click on a Layout button to rename it. - EC-50 Custom Button Support Under the Controller Setup, a "Custom" tab can be selected to map the 4 custom button on the right hand side of the controller. - Widescreen Adjustment "Viewable Canvas area" is calculated by the system to inform the operator of the usable pixel space after taking into account items like Overlap width. - Presets with Custom Names When a preset is overwritten from either preview or program, it may lose its custom name if the E2/S3 video processor is power cycled. The presets remain in the system, however, the custom names are erased. This issue has been resolved in this release. *********************************** Version 3.0 (Build 21361) ***************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of E2 firmware. E2/S3 Operating System: Revision 0.3.4.b or higher E2/S3 Firmware: Revision: 03.00.656 or higher ____________ NEW FEATURES - EC-200 Event Master Controller Support The Event Master EC-200 event controller is a dedicated hardware console specifically designed to support the Event Master Series Processors and devices. Based on an industrial operating system with optimized hardware, it runs the Event Master ToolSet software. Recommended for small events as well as for stadium sized shows, it provides the same functionality as its accessory, the EC-50 controller, with additional features and capabilities delivered in a compact package. - EC-50 Live Switch Allows user to select a layer on Program and live switch sources into that layer. - EC-50 Diagnostic Tests *********************************** Version 2.8 (Build 20175) ***************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of E2 firmware. E2/S3 Operating System: Revision 0.3.4.b or higher E2/S3 Firmware: Revision: 02.00.600 or higher - EC-50 Touchscreen and Mac OS Touchscreen is supported with Mac OS 10.11.1. Previous versions do not support the EC-50 touchscreen. - For more details with some examples of how these new features work, point your web browser to: http://elearning.easygenerator.com/3e0900a1-f91d-44cd-9aec-a6bf1729b10c ____________ NEW FEATURES - Scaling Mode Per Layer The global "Scaling Mode" selection on the Configuration page has been removed. You will no longer have to define one mode for all the scaler in a system. Now, you can select the scaling mode for each layer you add to a destination. This is extremely helpful if you have mostly SL or 2K resolution sources and just one or two DL or 4K inputs. After creating a destination, go to the Adjust tab and then ASSIGN. At the bottom where you assign layers, you will see some new buttons labeled SL, DL and 4K. Prior to assigning the layer to the destination, you can set the capacity or maximum resolution that you are going to use on that layer. With this new method, you can have different capacities for layers on the same destination. The Bank rules still apply and the number of available layers will change as you move from one capacity to another. Keep in mind that the DL or 4K layer can still be used for SL sources. Another point to note is that z-order changes can only happen between like layer capacities. - Advanced Widescreen Setup Outputs can now be freely positioned by selecting the Expert mode for widescreen. Basic adjustments are still available. Destination canvases can now be defined in the standard fashion by output, or with a new option that creates the destination canvas size via the Background source of your choice. - Freeze All Outputs This function can be done independently or simultaneously per destination. You must have the destinations selected before you can freeze them. When the destinations outputs are frozen, it is indicated on the Program sides in the Programming menu. IMPORTANT NOTE This feature is actually freezing the outputs signals of a given destination. This happens AFTER the processing that creates the MVR signal for the destination. So the MVR view of the destination(s) will NOT be frozen, even though the actual output is. Hence the indications in the Programming menu. - HDCP Support HDCP is now activated in the E2 and S3 processors. The default setting is to have HDCP OFF for both inputs and outputs. To change the setting for inputs, select the input and then go to the Adjust tab. Below EDID settings, there is a checkbox to enable HDCP. The input will only be seen on those Destinations that have HDCP enabled. For HDCP on the output, it is enabled on the destination and not on the individual connectors themselves. Create a destination from a single or multiple output connectors. Then select the destination and go to the Adjust tab. Under OUTPUT, you will see a checkbox to enable HDCP. Remember that all components in your processing path must be HDCP compliant in order to view protected content. An HDCP enabled source must go out an HDCP enabled output destination. Then the transmission method and display device at the other end all need to have HDCP compliance. If anything in the chain is not, no image will be shown. IMPORTANT NOTES HD-SDI is NOT an HDCP compliant signal type. Destination created with HD-SDI connectors will not be able to pass any encrypted signals. Additionally, HDCP is NOT supported on the DVI Output cards. Also, turning HDCP OFF the input, does not remove HDCP encryption from the source. It merely tells the source that it is connecting to a non-compliant device. - Offline Programming (Restore XML) System can be restored via the XML file from a simulated processor. Put the xml folder from the VP simulator on a USB stick in the path EM/backup/xml/ In the USB Backup/Restore menu of E2 or S3, select Restore XML at the bottom of the menu. - API Commands API commands are now available via JSON. The command list can be found in the Web App under the Settings Page when connected to a live processor. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Increased Vertical Height for Destinations Destinations can now be up to four (4) outputs high with a maximum of 4800 pixels. Vertical backgrounds are only supported for 1, 2 or 4 high destinations. 3 high are NOT supported. Inputs used in scalers have a limit of two connectors tall, maximum of 2800 pixels. Backgrounds do not have this limitation. - Source Filenames The soucefile names in the Input list now follow the user assigned name for the Input. So you will no longer have to rename your sourcefiles to match the input name you gave them. This name is also what populates the lower left corner of the layers. - Output Created with Destination It is no longer necessary to create Outputs before creating Destinations. You can select an inactive output connector and then Add a Screen Destination. The output will then automatically be created. Likewise, you can drag other inactive connectors to the destination. ____________ KNOWN ISSUES - Cut and fill cannot be used on a 4K layer. - Link errors may show additional false failures in the GUI Configuration page. A stable system shows proper green indication. *********************************** Version 2.0 (Build 18332) ***************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of E2 firmware. E2/S3 Operating System: Revision 0.3.4.b or higher E2/S3 Firmware: Revision: 02.00.527 or higher - When using 4K inputs in a linked system, make sure the input is used on Destinations defined in the same system to which the 4K input is connected, to avoid image artifacts. This is a known issue that will be addressed in a future release. ____________ NEW FEATURES - Support for S3-4K Screen Management System Initial release of Events Master Toolset that officially supports the S3-4K product. Refer to the R5905948 Rev 01 Event Master Devices User's Guide for more information about the S3-4K. - Support for EC-50 Controller for E2 and S3 Initial release of Events Master Toolset that officially supports the EC-50 product. Refer to the R5905948 Rev 01 Event Master Devices User's Guide for more information about the EC-50 controller. - Linking two S3-4K units Like E2, two S3-4K units can be linked together. Depending on the linking configuration, linked S3 units share inputs, and expand the number of layers and outputs. With code release 2.0 and higher, two S3 units can be linked. Follow the instructions detailed in the "Configuration Menu > Linking" section of the User's Guide for more information. - Alpha Cut & Fill keying support The Cut and Fill function enables you to cut a key in one layer and fill it with video from another layer within the same Mixer. The two Layers can be manipulated independently or joined using the Link Layers checkbox. Prerequisites 1) Source with Alpha channel information 2) Source with Fill Video 3) Available layer NOT on Program To setup a Cut+Fill Key 1) Select Cut/Alpha source and drag to the Preview canvas 2) Make sure source is selected, indicated by blue rectangle 3) In Adjust Layer tab (upper right of screen), select "Layer Type" and change to "Key" 4) In "Key Fill", change to "Cut+Fill" 5) Drag "Fill" source onto the selected layer. In pop-up window, select "Fill..." 6) Size and Position fill layer as necessary Use Destination or Layer transition to bring image to program. Clicking the "Link Layers" checkbox will lock both layers together for size and position adjustments. Note: 1) Cut/Fill layer must be cleared from Program prior to recalling a preset that utilizes that same layer. 2) To adjust Key Clip, Gain and Opacity settings, select the "Cut: Layer.." button at the top of the menu. 3) To change either the cut or fill source, drag a source onto the selected layer. Known Issues: 1) The Layer Modifier Panels do not work for Cut / Fill layers. Instead of treating both layers of the mixer as a single layer, the alignment tools and Z-Order only updates the layer currently selected. 2) Drag and drop layers from the Layer tab in the Programming page has issues. To make a cut / fill layer to show up, either drag and drop from the source list OR click on the eye icon. If you drag the individual layers (for example Layer 4-A or Layer 4-B), it will not work properly. - Support for Aux scaling independent of Layer mode AUX scaling capability is no longer tied to the native "Scaling Mode" set on E2 or S3. ************************************ Version 1.5 (Build 17304) **************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following with this release of E2 firmware. E2 Operating System: Revision 0.3.4.b or higher E2 Firmware: Revision: 01.50.473 or higher ____________ NEW FEATURES - Custom Layouts in Programming Page Within the Programming page, two custom Layouts can be created to quickly switch between different combinations of destinations. On the right hand side of the GUI, in the middle of the screen are three new buttons "Layout 2", "Layout 1" and "Clear Layout". To make a custom Layout, simply drag and drop any of the Destination tabs at the top of the screen to the "Layout 1" or "Layout 2" buttons. Whenever you press one of these buttons, the Programming page will switch to only show those destinations. To clear a layout definition, first select "Layout 1" or "Layout 2", then press the "Clear Layout" button. The Programming page will revert to showing all defined destinations. - Extended Layer Capacity Up to 16 2K mixers are now available in E2. This is made possible with the ability to split the processing banks. To access all 16 mixers, destinations will need to be 4x 2K output or less. For example, 4x 2K Widescreen, 1x4K screen or 2x DL widescreen. When setting up for maximum screens, be sure to create all your destinations first, and then go back and add layers. This will ensure you have enough canvas space to drive the destinations. If you are setting up for maximum layers, create a destination and then add layers. The system will then let you know if you have enough canvas space available to create additional destinations based on how many layers you have used. For example, given a 4 projector blend of HD Outputs, you are able to assign 8 mixers to this destination and still add more destinations. If you add more than 8 mixers, you will stack the processing banks and not be able to create another destination. Regardless of your setup, Auxes are still available. - Linking Two E2 Units The link cards allow for linking multiple E2 units. Depending on the linking configuration, linked E2 units share inputs, and expand the number of layers and outputs. With code release 1.5, 2 E2 units can be linked. How do I link two E2s? a) Change the unit System IDs to be different. The default User ID is 0 on all E2s. On one of the E2s change the User ID to 1 from the front panel. b) Connect the link cables provided with each E2 between the link connectors as follows. Each E2 comes equipped with two link cards, always located in slots 1 & 2. Link cards are identified with a yellow color stripe at the top. Connect each link card connector from one E2 to the corresponding link card and connector of the other E2. Make sure to push each cable until it clicks in place. This will results in the following 4 connections. VP ID 0, Link Card slot 1, Link 1 >> VP ID 1, Link Card slot 1, Link 2 VP ID 0, Link Card slot 1, Link 2 >> VP ID 1, Link Card slot 1, Link 1 VP ID 0, Link Card slot 2, Link 1 >> VP ID 1, Link Card slot 2, Link 2 VP ID 0, Link Card slot 2, Link 2 >> VP ID 1, Link Card slot 2, Link 1 c) Start the Event Master Toolset version 1.5 or higher and make sure the two E2s are discovered on the network. Drop one the two E2s in the GUI. Then drop the second E2. You will be presented the option to add as a new system, add as a master, or add as a slave. Select either add as a master or add as a slave. At this point it is suggested that you select and name appropriately each E2 so that you can identify it in your setup. In a few menus you will be provided the selection to change between which E2 controls you are viewing. Note that there is no relationship between User ID and Master or Slave selection. Either one can be Master or slave in a linked configuration. The only real significance but totally transparent to Users is the Event Master Toolset only communicates with the Master E2. The Master E2 establishes its own connection and handles all communications with the slave. d) From the configuration page switch from the detail view to the System view and ensure that the status of all connections is good Green. If any connections are shown red please check that the cables were connected as described in step b and they were fully seated. e) You may now proceed with the configuration and programming of the E2 linked system having full access to all resources from both E2s; a total of 56 inputs, 16 screen outputs, 8 Aux outputs, 4 multiviewer outputs and up to 32 mixer layers depending on your configuration. If you choose to auto create your inputs, outputs and MVR outputs they will be created from Unit ID 0 first and then followed by the ones from Unit ID 1. f) You may proceed with defining your destinations, auxes and assign your layers. It is recommended that you setup all screen destinations and make layer assignment before you setup the Multiviewer. g) Note that in the Multiviewer and Web App sections of the Event Master Toolset there is an additional selection. You may select whether you are viewing the Master or Slave E2 Multiviewer windows or the Master or Slave E2 Web App. The selection names correspond to the way you named the units in step c. h) When backing up and restoring your system you only need to backup and restore from the Master Unit. i) When genlocking your system to an external sync you only need to bring the signal into the Master unit and select lock to External from the Event Master Toolset. A note about Multiviewer and Linked Systems In an E2 linked setup as you create destinations and assign layers the Event Master Toolset determines the best resource allocation for your configuration. In order to make optimal use of expansion links, screens in linked E2 systems must be viewed on the Multiviewer in the E2 where the Event Master Toolset has allocated it. Optimal allocation may cause a screen allocation to move from one E2 to another as screen resources are changed. This may result in a screen already placed in a Multiviewer to not be operative. The Event Master Toolset will change the UMD text to Screen not viewable on this MVR . All you need to do is delete the screen from the Multiviewer displaying this message and place it on the other Multiviewer. - Destinations As Sources Destinations can now be used as PIP sources or as sources for Auxes. Layer size rules still apply so you need to be in the right scaling mode to support the destination size. To access this feature, go to the "Programming" page, select the "Input" tab and then click on the "Destinations" button. The items in the list will correspond to the available screen Destinations. Drag and drop any destination to Layer or Aux as required. - Still Stores As Background Source Backgrounds can now use captured or imported still stores as their source, in additional to being a live input or matte color. Still store must match the size of the destination before any overlapping has been applied. Still stores may now be imported from PNG files. Layer and background rules still apply. if you are in 2K mode, the still needs to be 2K or smaller, DL needs to be DL or smaller, etc. A PNG to be used as background needs to be the same resolution as the background. Currently PNGA is not supported. The import is done from the GUI, so make sure the computer running the GUI has access to the still. Importing stills via the USB on the front panel is not supported. It is also recommended to have a Gigabit network switch in place to load files quickly. - User Definable EDID EDID can now be configured by the user to create custom resolutions. A VESA calculator is highly recommended to make sure the EDID will be compatible with your graphics card and follows timing guidelines. Look for the "EDID Timing" section under the "Adjust: Input" tab in the "Configuration" page. - Additional Color Space Selections for Inputs Color space can now be set for normal or reduced range for both SMPTE and RGB color spaces to allow for consumer color settings that have reduced ranges typical on HDMI sources. This is available for all input connector types. ************************************ Version 1.2 (Build 14271) **************************************** _______________ IMPORTANT NOTES - Use the following E2 Firmware revision or higher with this release of Event Master Toolset. Revision: 01.20.355 ____________ NEW FEATURES - Layer Freeze The GUI will now allow individual layers to be frozen. In the Programming page, select the layer and press the "Freeze" button at the bottom of the screen. The button name will then change to "Unfreeze" for that selected layer. - Preset Save from Program Previously, an operator could only save a Preset from Preview. Four new buttons have been added at the top of the Preset tab in the Programming page of the GUI; "Save From PVW", "Save From PGM", "Overwrite From PVW" and "Overwrite From PGM". When creating new presets, simply choose "Save from PVW" or "Save from PGM" depending on which look you want to capture. For existing Presets, you can now overwrite them with looks from either Preview or Program. - Preset List Reordering The Preset list can now be reordered by renumbering the Preset or dragging the preset to a new location in the list. Be sure to first click on "Enable Reorder" before attempting to perform this operation. ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - The GUI will now show an error when attempting to drop an Input config into a Layer when no Sources exist. - After having saved over 20 User Keys, typing in numbers that end in zero in the quick select field would not be possible. This issue has been resolved in this release. - The GUI will now indicate the system is busy when changing between Native rates. - Changing Native rates when running the GUI with the Video Processor Simulator, would cause the GUI to become non-responsive. This issue has been resolved in this release. - Under certain conditions, the Shadow tab would disappear from the GUI. This issue has been resolved in this release. ****************************** Version 1.1 (Build 13191) ********************************** ______________________ IMPROVED FUNCTIONALITY - Raster box indicating end move location When a Layer is armed to move, a raster box on the Programming page will show the end location for that layer. - Connector capacity of unassigned connectors When connectors are NOT part of an Input or Output configuration, the Adjust tab for the connector will allow the connector capacity to be changed. - Keyboard shortcuts Enabled by default, the following shortcuts have been added. This list also appears in the Settings page of the Event Master Toolset. Multiple Select --> Ctrl Clear Layer --> Backspace All Trans --> Enter Recall Next Preset --> Spacebar - Reset All for Feathering In the Feathering setup menu, a "Reset Selected" button has been added. Depending on the currently selected feathering regions, pushing this button will set the feathering to 0. - Vertical Position value not correct when "Layer Position Center of Destination" is enabled Under this condition, the value shown in the Window Adjustment menu is now correct when the PIP is above or below the center of the destination. - Screen and AUX Destinations can be rearranged In the Programming page, when "View All" is selected to show all defined destinations, the user can now drag any of the destination tabs so as to arrange them in a particular order. - User adjustable fields Checkboxes, Edit Boxes, Sliders, etc. will immediately show a new value entered by the user. The previous value may reappear if the video processor doesn't confirm the new value in a certain amount of time. - H/V Overlap for Widesceen Destinations The maximum overlap allowed is now the full screen resolution. - Acceleration of + / - button The longer a + or - button is held down, the faster the value will change. ****************************** Version 1.0 (Build 12759) ********************************** _______________ INITIAL RELEASE - Refer to the E2 User's Guide for detailed information about this product. ******************************************************************************************* ____________ INSTALLATION On Windows, run "Event Master Toolset Rev x.xx Setup.exe" and follow the on screen instructions to install the software on your computer.
